Those of you lucky enough to be considering buying a SsangYong could save up to £7,000 by taking advantage of 0% finance for three years providing that you can stump up a 20% deposit.
Participating dealers are offering the flagship Musso GX220 with free metallic paint and leather trim worth £1,729 bringing the total finance saving to £6,950.96 over three years. The on the road price of the GX220 is £25,665
The smaller Korando, which was launched last autumn, is also available with free metalic paint and gives customers a £3,893.60 price reduction on the GLS 2.3 twin cam. The total amount payable is £18,005.

January 1998 will see the arrival of SsangYong"s turbo diesel engine replacing the normally aspirated version across the Musso range. Developed in conjunction with Mercedes-Benz, the new 5-cylinder 2.9 litre engine puts out 26% more power and 28% more torque, letting the diesel Musso"s top speed rise from 91mph to 97mph and acceleration from standstill to 60mph improve by 5 seconds at 14.4 seconds. Economy is also up with a commendable Combined cycle figure of 30.7mpg.
The revised Musso also features styling changes that include body-colour bumpers and side mouldings, "softer" tail treatment and bronze tinted alloy wheels. Prices start at a most reasonable £19,155 on-the-road. Find out how we got on with the GX220 version next month!

SsangYong"s rapid Musso GX220 has been doing time with Hampshire Police as a Traffic Department workhorse. After only a few months into its evaluation, Fleet Manager, John Bradley, has been impressed with its performance. The vehicle has been used for motorway patrol work and "all terrain trouble shooting".
Powered by a Mercedes-Benz designed 3.2 litre 24 valve straight six petrol engine, figures of 9.5 seconds 0-60mph and a top speed of 118 mph have no doubt been useful to the boys in blue. John Bradley commented that the performance, handling and brakes all score highly, as does its load carrying space.
Hampshire Police has 758 cars on their fleet, including Range Rovers and Discoverys, which collectively cover 15.5 million miles annually. "We are an ideal test bed for a vehicle"s quality and reliability and we feel we have a duty to pass on our findings with the new SsangYong to other Forces around the country", stated Mr. Bradley.
